How much costs?
Several factors may influence the cost of scar surgery. One of them is the number and type of procedures your surgeon decides it’s better to use in your scar. This will be determined according the type of scar you have. Other factors that may influence the cost of scar surgery are the anesthesia fees, surgeon’s fees, facility fees, medication and post surgery treatments. Here you can see reference numbers of some of the most used procedures. Please note that these are just reference numbers and they can vary widely from surgeon to surgeon and geographic location.
- Laser skin resurfacing: $2,800 to $3,300
- Facial scar revision surgery: $800 to $1,300
- Microdermabrasion: $100 to $250
- Chemical peel: light-$150 and $300 / medium- $1000 to $2000 / deep- $2500 to $6000
Once again I remind you that those are reference numbers because it’s very difficult to determine how much you will pay for a scar surgery before your examination. After your first consultation your surgeon can get more close values regarding your scar condition and the procedures that will be necessary to get the results you want. Pure cosmetic procedures (to improve patient appearance) most health insurance plans will not pay any expenses.
